P-Mate - Zip, Pull & Pee

About the P-Mate

During a journey through Indonesia in 1988, Moon Zijp was confronted with the fact that when she had to pee she always ended up in a difficult situation. At the Academy of Arts in Amsterdam she developed her first P-Mate. This enabled her to pee while standing upright, and this was demonstrated in performances which caused mainly a lot of gaiety and attention.

Good ideas linger, and the interest in practical use grew. In 1999 a break-through followed when, in the television talkshow of Paul de Leeuw (a Dutch talkshow-host), she was peeing live and upright before the eyes of the entire nation.

Overwhelmed by publicity and interest she decided to open up her idea to all women in The Netherlands. From that moment on the P-mate launched a revolution of women's ideas of peeing. Not only in The Netherlands, but also internationally the P-mate is unstoppable.

Every woman, young or old, will recognize one or more of the following situations in which she has to pee urgently:

  1. There's no toilet available.
  2. There is a toilet, but it is so dirty that you'd rather prefer to hold it.
  3. There is no bush or secluded spot where you can bare your bottom quietly
  4. You are standing in front of an impenetrable bush.
  5. What is creeping through that impenetrable bush?
  6. The toilet consists of two footings and a hole. You spatter your shoes or it leaks against your legs.
  7. You are pregnant, you have to pee often but it is difficult to get up.
  8. You are not pregnant, but, for any reason, it is hard for you to squat.
  9. You are waiting in the end of a line at an outside-event, will you make it?
  10. You are on a boat with a toilet that's too small, or there's no toilet.
